Does anyone have any experience with New Non Asbestos brake pads in a DB5 or maybe DB6 , I fitted some new ones and have travelled aprox 300 miles on them and have had and have noticed compared to older original versions they seem very hard , and seem to overheat and fade very quickly.

The car has had brake boosters overhauled and new disks and I would guess that there is a 40% reduction in braking vs the older ones with no change in the system. I have also checked and bled system etc.

Supplier option in Australia are limited but I can source overseas and wondered if any one had any experiences with different brands? Maybe softer ones? I would love any feedback as its not a daily driver happy to consider a comp pad.

I am also just about to restore original jack and have not been able to get one from the factory , does any one know if this was a component part from a particular manufacturer in europe or a factory made part?

Thanks in advance for your help

Unless the disks are going blue you are not cooking the pad, what fluid have you used? what make are the pads?

Just so I understand, if you've got a jack to restore why do you need one from the factory?

The Jack yes , its broken , I need to restore or replace

and the pads , just standard factory , but they are terrible , they feel like they are not getting much purchase on the disks, floating on the disk and not biting , I don't have much choice in Australia , was thinking of the ferodo comp, but thought I would ask any other owners/racers

I was driving B roads and they faded after only a few kms or a mile on a downward stretch

As for the fluid all new , the break boosters have been totally overhauled all seals replaced and my restorer has been doing cars for 25 years …he too is baffled , we can only assume that its the changes in the pad materials
