Hi all, I'm looking at getting shot of my E46 320d. It's had decat down pipe, FMIC and remap so about 190bhp.

I am looking at spending 3-3.5k.
Would like if to be petrol as don't do the mileage for a diesel.
Roughly the same bhp as the BMW.
Economy.... Not hugely important.
RWD if possible.

Cheers

You'll struggle to beat a 3 series for a combination of handling, power, bhp and everyday useability. I've driven pretty much every car in its class and nothing seems to come close. The C class and Lexus IS are behind for the on paper stats, but worth a look to see if you personally prefer them.

I would like a 330i and and I have found a 2002 plate in Topaz Blue for 3650. Might be tempted to have a look in smile

Not considered a merc or Lexus before, so may be worth having a look aswell!

An IS300 would be on my radar alongside the 330i.

Going to be viewing this in Monday, a little more than budget but looks a good spec, condition and low mileage.

Cheers! Amazing cars for the money and very robust with cheapish parts. They average around 18mpg, so may be an issue depending how many miles you are doing.
How much would a half decent one cost, and what is there to look out for? Mileage isn't a huge deal breaker as I'm away 2 weeks out of 4 wink

Give us a clue :-) why are you getting shot of the 320d? If you want to change to something with similar power and RWD, which aspects do you want to change?
