I think the alternator on my cerb has died, but before running out to buy a new one thought id get some second opinions.

Last few times out the battery light came on at start up, but after a while went out, now it seems to stay on.

checking the voltage at the back of the alternator, nominally:
12.6v with engine off
11.4v engine on tick over
11.5/6v engine reving.

new big fuse and fuse holder.
new battery last year.

alternator? Or something else I've missed

cheers in advance for your guidance.

It looks like Rimmer brothers have them at £109.

Thanks, thought so, but always best to check.
also thanks for the offer of the used one, but while I'm whipping the fuel rail off, I think I'll have a new one.

Remember you will probably all get a new alternator without a pulley so make sure you've got the tools to switch.

Also, get a new belt and check your coil pack rivnuts while you're in there. Tbh I'd Change the oil pressure switch too as you have to remove most of the V to get to them.

Job done!
one hour out, one hour back together.
did the oil pressure switch last year and greased the coil pack rivnuts, so that saved some time.

Also local motor factors did one for £99.60 inc vat, so well chuffed with that.
