What is this pipe for

I have just been checking oil water etc. on my Chim and have found a pipe that has a bolt in the end. not sure if it suppose to be connected and some previous owner has unconnected it.

I have taken some picture but unsure how to post them on here so if anyone would like to help :-)me do this they please do.

OK can see where your going wrong.
Click on you picture in fotango and then click on get link to picture. When the picture refreshes it will have a URL above it, THAT's the no to put between your [pic] ** [/pic] quotes.

Hope that makes sense.

I'll be home in about 1/2 an hour if your still having problems.

I would have said it would be the water take off from the inlet manifold to the plenum, if so don't worry about it and leave it dissconected.

As Said up the thread, its the bypass which on a Range Rover goes into the plenum inlet heater and from there to the outlet of the rad hose, where it then goes back into the block. A "thermostat bypass".
