OK, so this is a prime example of what's wrong with NP&E.
Someone tweets something stupid and a thread is started about it. Because a woman is involved, posters then find pictures of her and we get all the 'I would' tedious crap.
I reported it. Interested to know if the comments and pics stay up.

I do agree that "The Mental" has had it's day and is as tired as the other tired phrases such as 335d(mapped) and throw a can of red bull etc. Members agreed in the motorsport forums to drop the phrase "Spantard" as a reference for a (at the time) deeply unpopular Spanish racing driver and at a stroke the phrase disappered but I suspect that "The Mental" is far more ingrained into PH culture and won't disappear completely.
Gaz, thanks for your action and no problem about having to delete my post too. I shouldn't have bothered replying in the first place!I do agree that "The Mental" has had it's day and is as tired as the other tired phrases such as 335d(mapped) and throw a can of red bull etc. Members agreed in the motorsport forums to drop the phrase "Spantard" as a reference for a (at the time) deeply unpopular Spanish racing driver and at a stroke the phrase disappered but I suspect that "The Mental" is far more ingrained into PH culture and won't disappear completely.
I agree that this attitude is ingrained in PH but I think getting rid of it is something that needs to come from PH management as well as members. As it stands sexism and misogyny appear to be pretty much the last 'acceptable' form of bigotry on PH. I know mods frequently tell members to use the report button, but we can't report an inherent attitude. As an example, would a thread slagging off all black drivers be acceptable? No. Yet derogatory threads about women drivers are allowed to continue.
It's not that I want to keep sticking my heads above the parapet over this, trust me, I really don't. But sometimes it just becomes too wearing to not say anything.
