I did regret buying the base non s 991. Fantastic handler BUT too little torque in the lower rev range. That combined with the economy biased gearing (when not in sport mode) made it a little sluggish below 4k rpm. Not an issue if you are going for a blast but a bit tedious when on your daily commute.

I've since switched to a C2S which feels much more like the complete article

I haven't bought one, yet, but I've driven a few at PEC, on loan, and a good friend has one.

I was really impressed with all models. It's moved away from its origins but great cars and definitely suits the character of the PDK gearbox. The manual is a bit odd and not nearly as good as the 996 or 997 6-spds.

Check out the 991 C4S. I thought this was the best choice. Bit more money but worth it IMO. A lot depends on options. I didn't like the PDCC, and I've read mixed opinions.
