S-Class Merc Reliable? 5k Budget.

Hi ,

I'm after swapping my commuter estate i fancy Something comfy and auto.

My budget is 5k but willing to spend less and needs to cope with a baby and it's associated baggage!

I've seen a few nice looking s-classes, I'm not too fussed on fuel costs but want something pretty bombproof that isn't going to be major trouble. I've also seen s-type v-8's but not too keen on the look of them.

I'd look for a really nice w140 model - the older squarer one. Lovely cars and a proper Mercedes.

Yeah, have to agree on the LS, unless you are prepared to take a risk on big problems. I would personally go for a BMW E65 745 in that price range.

This one has the awesome comfort seats, xenons and dynamic drive so it will handle much much better than the Merc. And it has the fantastic V8 engine for £4k.
