Best place to sell L lenses ?
Discussion
You could try Mifsuds http://www.mifsuds.com/ They gave me a much better price than MBP would when I sold my Canon 600mm lens and the guy from MBP that I dealt with was a bit of an arse. The better price was a grand more than MBP offered
Well thanks again everyone for the ideas. I tried MPB and it wasn't that enticing. Will try mifsuds after Xmas. Amazon resale was full of "I am an offshore driller..." Haven't braved ebay yet. I did look at a PH ad but the non motor section is full of tumbleweed.
I tried the suggestion of not asking anyone for recommendations and just waiting for divine inspiration to strike by telepathy, but no joy so I guess that only works for car sales. I've actually had the best results from Gumtree with one sold and one under offer, so although it's slow I'll stick with it for now as I'm not in a rush. Thanks all.

I sold a load of old photographic gear, mostly film cameras and lenses, on eBay for a friend. About 30 lots went worldwide, some with surprisingly good prices, and the only trouble was from two buyers, both Spanish. As long as you're not selling laptops or mobile phones I think eBay is fine.

Do I win a prize for suggesting being the first to suggest Gumtree? Even though you'd used it before?I tried the suggestion of not asking anyone for recommendations and just waiting for divine inspiration to strike by telepathy, but no joy so I guess that only works for car sales. I've sold several things via there now, and bought lots as well. Cars, cameras, tyres, shoes, amplifiers, washing machine etc.
If it is a genuine buyer or seller and not some comedy conman, then all is normally well.
And it is free.
