My Boxster lost its coolant late last week on the M25, car was recovered but to speed things up I was given a courtesy car to complete my journey with the Boxster being dropped off at my nominated repairer last night (excellent service from RAC)
I have used my local garage for about 8 years, in Telford, GTR specialists but do general work as well, always use them for MOTs and maintenance beyond my capabilities - always been fair and straight with me.
I explained the symptoms and what I believed it could be when I called in this morning, either an airlock or radiator most likely causes.
They called me about two hours later saying that they had looked at the car, its not the radiator but they were having a few issues with bleeding the system. As they are not familiar with Boxsters the owner of the garage contacted a local Porsche specialist (that I did not know existed) and they stated that they would prefer me to have them look at the car.
I was put in contact with the owner of the Porsche specialists and all arranged that car will be recovered to them FOC on 6th Jan - first date available and that any time they have spent on trying to diagnose the problem today is also FOC
Really pleased that there is no charge and equally pleased that a place holds its hands up and says they would rather have the problem resolved by a marque specialist - a lot of other places would have just racked up the costs trying to sort it out
Such good service and honesty is hard to find and its certainly guaranteed them more of my business in the future
