Friday Rock Show

Just read that TeamRock Radio have come to an agreement with the BBC to be allowed to re-broadcast the final Tommy Vance Friday Rock Show from 1993.

It will be broadcast this Friday (27 Dec) @ 10pm.

Press Release said:

It features some of Tommy's favourite tracks including tracks from the Little Angels Jam album and a cover of Gimme Shelter, which they recorded for the 'Putting Our House In Order' Shelter Album. There are also fascinating interviews with Van Halen stars Sammy Hagar and Alex Van Halen.

You can get TeamRock Radio on DAB or via their website and other sources (TuneIn Radio, iTunes Radio)

Hopefully they will get access to some of the other stuff the BBC must have in the store rooms.

I have Team Rock Radio on most of the time, switching to Planet Rock when something I don't like comes on.

Thanks for the heads up on this, the Friday and Saturday rock shows were a kind of rock education for me as child/young teenager. I lost interest in Radio 1 when they finished.

It would be good to hear that final show.

Per the previous post, Alan Freeman on the Saturday rock show was also very good. It'd be great if some of those shows got aired again alongside the Friday rock show. TV on the radio!
