Turnover doesn't tell us much; the profit figure would be more useful.

Given that some of the income goes to authorities which are not responsible for road upkeep perhaps it's not surprising there are still potholes.

That figure was cited this morning on R4 as the profit figure.

Ah OK, that's more useful then. Is that publicly run car-parks only, or does it include private ones?

Pretty sure it was council parking fines.

Think it was just parking fines - the highest amount being recouped in Westminster, and I think the top four were in central London (though I was half asleep listening to this on Radio 4 this morning) ..

Yep, top 4 were Central London, 5 was Brighton & Hove - no surprise there!

This is very easily avoided.
I've never had a parking ticket, ever in nearly ten years. I've had those comedy private ones though.

I added £30 to this figure this morning. mad

To be fair though, i was getting a haircut, i've NEVER bought a ticket when i've nipped in for a haircut. One haircut there every 2 weeks for 8 years give or take... must be over 150 haircuts with free parking. Take your 30 quid, i'm still winning, fkers coolcoolcoolcool
