Hi

I have a dilemma which I am would appreciate your feelings and comments.

Early in the year (Feb/March) I put up a set of 4 OZ wheels for sale.

They sold very quikly and the purchaser (Colin Welon) paid for them!
Since then Colin has been in contact twice ref collecting them which he has stll not done!

I have recently e-mailed him (27/11/13) about him collecting them because I need the space for some other parts etc and I gave him untill the end of the year to collect them..

Well I have had no response to that e-mail and with only a few days to go I have been thinking what to do next, which has given me a dilemma!

The dilemma is what to do now!

A. Put them up for sale and send him his money back when they sell?

B. Put them up for sale and send him some of his money back? (Charge due to storage and messing about etc.)

C. Put them up for sale and send him 0 (Not a thing I would do!)

D. ?

As I said earlier I would appreciate your thoughts, or better still does anybody know Colin and can give him a bit of a nudge so he gets in contact etc.

Cheers
Andy

Flog 'em and keep the money. If he ever gets in touch then think about refunding all/some of the money/come to Gentleman's agreement.

Hi Andy

Email him a link to this post. Hopefully that wil spur him into action? I'm amazed he hasn't collected such a valuble set of wheels!

Or ask him to fork out for a courier if he cant collect?

Failing that flog them and hold onto the cash or part of until he contacts you.

Karl.

Is email the only contact details you have for him?

Do you know if he is a TVRCC member?

Obviously they can't give out his address/phone number but maybe could contact on your behalf?

Flog them then email him to say waht you have done and if he dosent get in touch keep the money, if he does get in touch then refund him. Does seem strange though cos they are not cheap and to pay for something and not pick them up or get in touch is difficult to understand.

Would seem to me the fairest way would be
1 contact him again by all possible means telling of your intention to re list
2 if no response sell them again
3 if he makes contact after the sale refund him his money but keep back for yourself the original sale price plus a little extra for the aggro / cost of covering ebay fees etc.

This way your not out of pocket and he gets the majority of his money back less let's call it a " non refundable deposit"

If he doesn't get back to you then what else can you do ?

You have given him to the end of the year to collect them. If it's not collected by then, sell them and wait until he contacts you. If he does, give him all or some of his money back, because you are entitled to charge storage for an item not collected on time.

Good point.

Is he a PH member? If so do you have his username on here as it might be the same on the TVRCC forum if he's a member I can check if he's listed? I can't access personal details but if he's listed you could then give Ali a call in the New Year and ask her to contact him on your behalf?

You have to think
What would you want him to do if the roles were reversed?

You are not interested in other people's feelings or opinions Andy...only your own. If you were you'd think twice before posting on this forum again....

Totally agree ... just for a moment think ... if this guy has paid for them then he will appear, he could be ill or other more important things in life could have overtaken him. Do not use this sort of post to make others less informed, justify your actions ... Nothing changes..!

This forum is open to anyone at any time, to ask questions and express their opinions. Andy has as much right as you or anyone else to be on this forum. I feel that your comments are of a personal nature. As Wedge owners, we should be united in helping and encouraging each other in improving and maintaining our cars. Those who are not happy with what they read here need not look in.

While at the NEC I was with a company discussing having made a Maple Dash for the Tuscan
While I was standing there a gentleman came on the stand introduced himself as a relative of a gentleman who had paid a deposit for a dash to be made for a car,
He said he was sorry no one had been in touch regards the order and paid the Balance reason was that the Gentleman who had ordered the dash had committed Suicide.
Sobering thought Andy but better keep these things out of the forum you should know the right thing to do without asking potential strangers.
Happy Christmas
Andrew

Exactly...so I say what I feel because its an open forum. You seem to forget Mr T asked for an opinion so I gave him mine...
Yes, but if you read the question, he wanted an opinion on the sale of the wheels and not about his personal status or a lecture about his personal feelings. This forum, if I'm not mistaken, is for the discussion of Wedge related matters. If you have anything constructive to say on the matter, we'd all like to hear it.

OK

Some of you are not happy with this post, sorry but I have a dilemma which I was hopping some of you may be able to help me with. As I trust the opinions of most of you, it's as simple as that.
Plus Colin (the gentleman) is a wedge owner (as far as I know) and I was hopping somebody on here may know him so, I can get the problem resolved.
With regard to them not taking up much room, that is irrelevant. I have been storing these wheels for 9 months, when I could have used the space for some thing else.
If you have space which you have to pay for would you not want to resolve it?

Now some of the comments are from three or four people, which I am not surprised have made negative if not provocative comments, as they don't want me on the forum!

Well sorry gents, you may have forced me off the forum with your attacks and comments during the summer. but this time I am not going away so get used to it and get on with it!

Happy Christmas
Andy
