Picked up my first Skoda this morning. It's a MK3 Octavia VRS in race blue. I decided I couldn't go for the sensible choice so it's a 2ltr petrol 220bhp and not the diesel...
I've come from a couple of BMWs so it's a bit of a change. I spent quite a bit on options so it's got some toys.
Only done 20 miles so far but I've gotta say its impressive. Pulls well and is sedate when it wants to be.
The first thing I did however was turn off the lane assist. A car trying to decide when I'm changing lanes and when I'm just not paying attention and taking slight control of the steering is not fun. Even though it's probably right.
Not to everyone's taste but I think it looks nice...

The rear quarter of that looks a bit ungainly, I bet it goes nicely thoughdrink

I had a MkII Petrol vRS and I think the MkIII looks a lot nicer with more presence. Nice car OP.

Looks very smart OP. I've got a feeling this design will age well although it looks a bit fussy to me now.

A friend of mine picked a black estate last week with all the options. Very nice car but the engine amplifier thing is just awful. The rest feels as good as an Audi. Cracking car.

Really like these and especially that colour, if you're not on Briskoda then get yourself over there too and say hello. These look tidier with a debadge on the back, the lettering is a bit big for my liking other than the Vrs badge IMO, but good choice!

Excellent choice, really like it.

Considering getting the estate version next year so be good to hear how you are getting on with it, nice to see the 'black pack' at the front

Looks really good. Definitely the only colour to get one in.

Well done for going for the petrol. Good colour too. smile

If only they did these with AWD I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

I quite liked the oringinal one and the shape before this but I think these have definately started getting much uglier.

Looks an absolute stunner, congrats.

I've always had a soft spot for these, looks stunning, especially in police livery haha

Completely agree with the Briskoda suggestion - its almost worth buying a Skoda just to be a member lol - great site imo

I quite like these too and it's nice to see someone choosing the petrol engines. The only thing that I'm not 100% on is the new grill! but that colour is fab.

What options have hi chosen OP?

Thanks everyone..
Only options are
Black pack
Sunset glass
Cruise control
Columbus sat nav / colour maxidot (both well worth the money)
Think that's all.
I've joined up on Briskoda and as you say. Awesome site.
And as a result today the fishing wire came out during its first clean and the rear end is now a lot tidier....

Good choice of colour. Agree with the comment about the Briskoda site, a great source of info. We went for the petrol also and very happy with the choice.

Just got over the running in period so it's getting a bit of a work out now. It doesn't hang aroundsmile
