I'm experiencing a minor poblem on my newly aquired and serviced 993 C4. The engine is very lumpy at idle speed, to the point where there is a tremor dicernable through the car at tickover. Engine seams fine otherwise. Could this possibly be due to a dirty ISV? I am assuming it is not a normal characteristic of the car.

BTW car is a varioram model that has covered 90K and has just had the full 96K service at a reputable independent.

Any help appreciated.

Could be all sorts of things...dodgy plug? nightmare to change, faulty lead,, blocked fuel filter??

Try to work out if both distributors are working and that you are not just on one.

Along the way it is definitely worth cleaning out the ISV...follow this link

easy to clean just really difficult to get to...have fun.....
