Okay here I am sitting in front of the fire in Verbier - Switzerland at my girlfriends Uncles House, i've had a few lovely glasses of red wine and it got me thinking.
I'm a massive G-Wagon nut ever since my Dad bought his 280 GE from the lead singer of Bananarama in January 1983 and now I'm just obsessed. Here in Switzerland there a fair few 2013 G63 AMG's rocking about, and I want to know why these people spent their hard earned cash on a £130,000 Ex Military 4x4 when you could have a new Range Rover Vogue which is technically a much better car.
I'd buy the G63 ever single time but are there any G63 AMG owners who could fight my corner and explain their choice?
Happy Christmas.........

Isn't the G63 for paupers, full fat G65 or nothing.
G65 is LHD only, although a couple have been imported. They are probably one of the coolest things on 4 wheels, although due to the brick-like aerodynamics top speed is only 130-ish. They're also pretty luxurious and a simple remap/exhaust/filters can take them upto around 700bhp, so in my view they're the 'HyperCars' of the 4x4 world, s
t in the corners but not much can keep up in a straight line. Personally prefer the madness of the 6x6 variant .... but think thats only listed in G63 form
Check out the /Drive series; Chris harris seeing if a Fiesta ST can out run a Fiesta ST on the trailer behind a G63.

Was lucky enough to drive one in the summer. All I can say is that it was hilarious, from the steering being so bad, to the noise which is one of the best. The little village we drive through didn't know what to think of it, neither did the guy in a scirocco who was left for dust down a country lane (it was quite straight). I'd have one over a range rover any day if I had plenty of money. Only got 8 mpg though (wasn't picking up the tab though so abused it slightly).
Fantastic machine, glad it exists
