We have the 140bhp 1.4 turbo in our Meriva B, can anyone recommend a tuner around Berkshire that can remap it? It pulls fairly well but could do with a few extra horses and a bit more torque! Going to be making up an exhaust for it to get rid of the restrictive bends but with good silencers so it isn't any louder than standard (mrs Rtig doesn't want a noisy car and it definitely wouldn't suit the family wagon!)

Is it worth spending that sort of money on a Meriva? Can't you simply change it for a more powerful car?

What spend 3-400 quid on a car you want to keep or swap it for a more powerful car that will cost, what a grand at least. Dealers arent going to let you swap a better car with no cash changing hands.

Id go for this http://www.superchips.co.uk/search?make=37&fue...

Its DIY just plug in and install the map. Also easily removable when you do want to sell. If yours is the 140bhp they also have a remap for that

Because you still have a st handling Meriva after spending that money, just one with a tiny bit of extra performance

Okay then I'm guessing the better advise is to sell it and buy a nail of a 330i, because that is more fun? And handles better, and sounds nicer, and in lala land can do 30mpg which is loads better than any derv or modern petrol? Or maybe he is perfectly happy with what a Meriva offers (lots of kit, practicality and reliability) but just wishes it had a little more grunt for the daily commute? Which then a 320 quid remap is a sensible decision.

Exactly, we are perfectly happy with the Meriva it has everything we need as a family car (easily fit 3 child seats in the back, shopping and buggy in the boot) would just be nice when I'm in the car alone to have a bit more power
