Mercedes Estate Got to be under £10k

I think my current Volvo estate is about to die. Always fancied a Merc Estate.
What should I be looking for?
Probably only do 5-6000 miles a year.
Would like it to be fairly fast (this is pistonheads!)
Diesel or Petrol?
Any problems I should look out for?

cough: There is an elderly C280 estate in the classifieds, its quite quick with the 2.8 V6 twinspark motor - wouldn't put too much of a dent in your budget.... :cough

E320 estates are very good indeed if that helps, just don't get a rusty one with fsh and checkable miles.

Sawman, Saw that, just looking at the moment as the Volvo hasn't been given it's death sentence yet! Will be New Year before SHWMBO Can be approached on the subject of spending anything "Automotive".

Will take a bit of hunting around but worth finding.

I would say a W211 E350 or E500 for that budget, you will get a nice facelift model for that money with low miles.

E320cdi with Brabus box added is also a good call, not as nice as the petrols but still nice.

You can buy a lot of petrol for that.

I recently bought a C55 AMG estate for not much over £10k. One of those or if you want something bigger the E55 AMG. At 5k miles per year it won't matter that low 20's mpg is all you'll get as it's worth it for the v8 growl.
