I know this have been brought up numerous times before, but driving the Tam when the sun is so bright can be a nightmare, as I have just rediscovered.
I am thinking of buying a pair of MGF/TF sun visors, but am unsure about fixing them in place. Is it just a case of using two short self-tapping screws into the soft part of the upper windscreen surround, or is there more to it than that?
Also, has anyone used any other manufacturers visors?

Mine have them fitted think they're fiesta mk1 visors tbh not sure how they are mounted I wouldn't use self tappers in to glass fibre tho' I would bond in threaded inserts they'll last whole lot longer

Good idea!Buzz
The rear speakers were screwed in place using self tappers (factory fit!), I opened the holes and used a nut and bolt to avoid stressing the fibre glass further.
Hello Chris
As you know i have the MGTF sunvisors fitted,as already mentioned self tappers wont hold them in place very long. You will need to nut and bolt them through the front roof guttering if that makes sense, i took photos for a "how to" but they don`t really show the nut and bolts but you might get the idea from these?
You will need slightly longer bolts so you can get a socket on them to tighten, i then fitted rubber covers over the nut heads so you cant tell they are there.
The bolt heads fit nicely into the countersunk brackets of the visors and then painted to conceal.

Don`t forget to position the visor so when the extension is moved over it fits the screen nicely

Any ????? just shout, should take you half an hour mate really easy job, just wish i did it years ago.

(just got back from a 'morning' visiting parents - but got stuck on the M5 most of the day - massive pile-up!
)Could look at something like these...
http://www.ebay.com/bhp/sun-visor-extension
They look ugly, but work and can be removed easily or just popped up.

Harsh.... but agree on the shades. I'm looking at some Tag Speedway's

I don't think the MG visors look too bad, TBH. I'd rather have them than not.
There are a couple of good reasons to choose them, the first is that they're simple to fix, with just two holes required and the second is that they were designed for a convertible, meaning they are not as 'deep' as standard 'tin-top' visors and not so prominent when the roof is off.
Have the Sagaris and T350's got visors?
