Looking for a head unit to replace the one in my E36, but struggling to pin down one with everything I want. It needs to be / have:

-Single DIN
-Monitor for reverse camera (not flip out)
-Inbuilt CD player
-Bluetooth (A2DP streaming)
-A reputable brand

Anyone got any ideas?

I suspect that's a very unusual set of requirements.

Why do you need a reversing camera??? Why don't you just fit sensor and be done with it.

I don't think a single din stereo exists with a screen for the rear camera. You might as well just buy an alpine or similar from car audio centre or halfords.

If you need a reversing camera, you could maybe get a bluetooth camera and use your phone for the screen?

There are very few single DIN head units with a non-pop out video screen. The only ones I know of are discontinued JVC units

1. Because it's a saloon, and the rear window is very high, you can't actually see where the back of it is. My first two cars were hatches, then I had a saloon with sensors, then a sports car with a wing, so the E36 is quite tricky in comparison. I have to parallel park everyday (which I have no problem with in itself) but some of the spaces are pretty tight so its useful to know exactly how much room there is.

2. I think a camera is more useful than sensors, and I already have a wire running from the boot to the head unit (if the form of the no-redundant CD changer) that I can tap into for it. And it's just cooler cool

Cheers for the links. A bit over budget sadly frown

I think if you want all that for less than £204, then you really are going to struggle.

Have a word with yourself, and don't ever think of trying for your van licence.

Revesing camera? Surely on a car that small a MK1 eyeball does the job fine!

I know the word "Ripspeed" is blasphemy around these parts, but I picked one of their DVD732B units up 2nd hand years ago for an old car of mine, and it was brilliant.

The only parts of your criteria it may not meet are the bluetooth (can't remember whether it had this or not) and being a reputable brand hehe
