My car has been sitting idle for too long but the resurrection has started

biggrin

Today I fitted a new alloy rad and hopefully I'll get the header tank back in tomorrow and tidy up any pipework that needs tidying.

The plan then is that there will be new fuel lines fitted over the next few days and hopefully it'll be alive again "this year".

Like the new rad, i have one sitting in the shed waiting to be fitted!!

I'm also changing the fuel lines but, trying to find suitable line and fittings is being a bit of a headache, i'd be interested to know what you use and where you get them from.

I'm only replacing the return hoses on mine as the supply pipe to the fuel rail was previously replaced.

It's 8mm ID (and 13mm OD).

I got mine off a motorsport parts supplier over here in Ireland.

I showed them a section of the old hoses and gave them details of the pressures in the system (it's a 5 BAR pump in the Cerbera) and they gave me hose with a 100 psi (just over 6.5 BAR) working pressure and a 250 psi (just over 16.5 BAR) burst pressure.

The new hose looks and feels different to the old stuff, feels much softer and more flexible, and has some sort of a nylon outer braiding on it.

The pipes are simply held in place by Jubilee clips (well that's what was on the car already when I took the old lines out) and I'm replacing the old ones with new stainless ones.

I got 5 mtrs of new pipe and have way more than I needed and the lot cost me around €30.

The car should be back running tomorrow if I get home from work early enough so I'll update the thread once I've got it alive again.
