New to the forum and after some advice, please. I recently bought a Griffith 500 ('97) with paint code P422/PK34B described as 'Dark Purple' on the plate I the engine bay. It needs some stone chips repaired but I can't get a match against the code. I've searched the forums but can't find a match in any of the lists. Can anyone let me know the manufacturer as it doesn't seem to be a 'srandard' TVR colour?

Even if you get a correct code there is a chance it won't match anyway. Colours fade, codes are incorrect etc. I got mine paint matched with a spectrometer, that most good paint places will have. That's more likely to offer greater accuracy, given the likely fading you will have, which is something I had done and it was spot on smile

Don't think there is such a thing as a standard Tvr paint.... wink

It takes a bit of work, but for mine I googled pics of paint colours for other makes of cars at the time that mine was made...mine turned out to be a colour that jaguar made for one year only in the early 1990's....probably a similar exercise to what Tvr customers did when they chose a colour to have new...."I wont dat one"

Thank you both for the advice. Time for a trip to the spectrometer I suspect...

Thanks, Potato Muncher, and sorry for taking so long to reply. Had some made up and it's perfect.
