Extract from the Daily Mail said:
A U.S. ecologist says conditions such as bad backs and sunburn suggest humans did not evolve alongside other life on Earth
In a new book, Dr Ellis Silver says aliens put humans our planet as recently as tens of thousands of years ago
He suggests the Earth might be a prison planet, since humans seem to be a naturally violent species and are here until we learn to behave ourselves

In his book, HUMANS ARE NOT FROM EARTH: A SCIENTIFIC EVALUATION OF THE EVIDENCE, the ecologist writes the human race has defects that mark it of being ‘not of this world’.

‘Mankind is supposedly the most highly developed species on the planet, yet is surprisingly unsuited and ill-equipped for Earth's environment: harmed by sunlight, a strong dislike for naturally occurring foods, ridiculously high rates of chronic disease, and more,’ he told Yahoo.

He also believes humans are not designed to be as exposed to the sun as they are on Earth, as they cannot sunbathe for more than a week or two – unlike a lizard – and cannot be exposed to the sun every day without problems.
More brilliant articles from The Daily Madness.

A prison planet?

Surely even G4S would be worried when some of the inmates manage to develop means of leaving the prison...

Well he's an idiot because H. neanderthalensis and H. erectus were two different species. That shows how much attention he pays to science so I suggest everything else he says from that point on is horsest.

NB Having just read the rest of the article it is indeed horsest.

Well he is an American, and we all know what they say about Indians and Buffalos........

Whoops silly me, native North Americans and Buffalos.

I agree with the Scientology slant.

Heh. You get similar concepts bandied around in various Star Trek episodes whether the original or the latest "Enterprise" series. (I've been slowly going through them just to see work out why Trekkies adore them.)

I would like to hear more about his doctorate, and his claim to be an "ecologist". I never met an ecologist with a PhD who didn't grasp the fundamentals of evolution, the concept of Occam's Razor or the necessity to check his facts (like the susceptibility of various species to sunburn, for example).

Quite a few people have tried to find some accreditation or formally published work by this "doctor" without success.
Plenty of (fairly obvious) debunks of the claim already posted too.
