I prefer the original headlights, not the ones that are a round headlight with a chrome rim inder a cover

If I buy a later car, are they a straight swap or do they need wiring or body modifications?

They are identical and can be swapped easily enough. Rears have different wiring though. Its easy to fit facelifts to a prefacelift, but not the other way round
