Bought a Focus recently and it only had 1 non remote key.

I've been looking around and it seems the only way to get a remote key (without having one already), is to go through Ford and be wallet raped. Not really worth it for a £800 car.

Does anyone know of a way i can buy a remote fob off egay and have it programmed on the cheap?

You can program a key to your car yourself if I remember correctly on the Mk1. It should say in the manual. Think it was something like ignition position 0 to 2 5 times in 3 seconds or something like that.

as above as long as it had RCL in the first place. If not you should be able to buy the RCL module and then program it.

Plenty of ford sites have guides/provide advice

It states in the manual you must have the original remote fob in order to program a new one.
