V60 D4 immobilised by error messages. Anyone else had same?

Anyone else had similar? Parked up on Friday working fine, went to use the car today and it started but wouldn't go. Handbrake would not release and dash was showing SRS Airbag system urgent service required, and service required on the DSC, Park Assist, Parking Brake, Power Steering and Engine system.
Called Volvo Assist, they sent a local garage mechanic, not from a main dealer. When I started it for him the majority of the faults had cleared, leaving only airbag and engine faults. Handbrake would now release. Airbag cleared while we revved it, then he switched it off, disconnected battery and waited 5 mins. This cleared remaining error.
Mechanic told me he's done several of these and Volvo told him to try battery off to clear faults after he used dollies to move one with the handbrake fault still showing. Anyone else had this problem?
