1995 Mazda MX5 (Eunos) Mk1

Hello all, thought I'd get a thread up of my latest car. Was a bit gutted after letting my old BMW 328 go, and using an unreliable 1.1 Ford Fiesta s
tbox to get around in only chucked more salt into the wounds. It was time for something reliable, and fun! With the amount of times the name of this car comes up on car forums, I felt the time was right to snap one up. I'm very glad I took the plunge, and now completely understand why people love these cars!
Only have some of the sellers photos and some quick snaps off my mates phone for now.
It's a 1.8 Eunos Import on 76k, new cambelt, near enough new complete set of Yokohamas, and solid underneath.
(I'm told it's a V-spec but I'm not sure, most of these were green and tan leather I thought)
Only things wrong with it is that the front bumper could do with repainting, and the tachometer is jumping about a fair bit, and occasionally when starting the engine will cut out, but starts again no problem. Sounds like it's a sensor of some sort that has gone down, will look into it soon.
But other than that, the car drives beautifully, the engine doesn't make much power but the handling is flawless, I've never driven something as precise and agile as this.
Right now I don't know what my plans are, just enjoying it how it is. Think those stickers on the bumper need to go though..

Nice example. As for what it its, I'd suggest it's not a V-Spec (they all had leather and I think they came in black, green or white). It's got electric mirrors - possible the 'Special Package' from 1996 in the link below?

I got some adjustable suspension from mx5 parts, ride looks and feels perfect. Red mk1 with black alloys looks just right. Thanks for the comments - the steering wheel was a nice surprise! Looks great with the cover off.
I agree I love the red on black, was originally going to get a BRG one but just loved how this one looked.
Going to look into lowering it once I stop being skint. The arch gaps are rather big
It's definitely a Eunos, "registered overseas" before 1997 on the V5. And the notice on the sun visor is all in Japanese
Not sure why it's had a UK panel fitted, had a good look when I viewed it to make sure it hadn't been hit from behind at some point. May stick an import panel back on it at later on, think they look better.

Went for a couple of nice drives recently and got some more shots.
mmmm, arty. I instantly forgot about that huge clump of mud and drove straight through it.
On my B-road adventure I encountered much flooding:
Unsurprisingly many of the little twisty roads were underwater. And those bumper stickers are still awful. Must have seen the drunk potholes one on at least 7 other cars. In protest, my car drove me into a flood and we both drowned. Fortunately, we both recovered, and I have now fixed the problem.
Much better. The Sparco stickers are gone too. I don't even think there was anything by Sparco on the car. Unless it's the mudflaps. And they're going anyway, so who cares!
