You could buy a 918 and jump in front of everyone else on the GT3 queue too I am given to believe....
not true mate.....I have a friend who has a 918, as in bum in seat....I asked him to see if he could place an order for a GT3.....all gone.....
I spoke to an opc today. It's true about the emissions laws changing so the current 991 gt3 engine would breach these when the rules come into effect but once this is sorted its back to business and as he says a gen2 is inevitable though he did add there was no mention of an RS yet.
He did say they had a couple on the list for any cancelled orders

it would be perverse to say that there will never ever be another GT3 MK 2 or?...after all the 991 shape is a 14 year run.but it will not be any time soon......The RS will be along sooner than you think...He did say they had a couple on the list for any cancelled orders

Thats a shame, now what incentive will they use to sell the 450 odd 918's still needing homes....first dibs on the RS?
As of 21.12.13, just over 700 cars are sold....dsl2 said:
In my case cause I didn't know how good it was going to be back then unfortunately!
+1I had never given the GT3 a second look pre 991 as I had always thought it too basic, hardcore, impractical, and analogue and certainly didn t want to go back to an archaic "manuel" gearbox after sampling the delights of a PDK GTS.

Once the more respected journos started banging on about how fantastic the transformed 991 GT3 was I then saw it as a natural progression as a practical "super car" and immediately placed an order.
Roll on PDK S!

Then I realised that this new one was not really a real GT3 but more a Carrea S +++ with a nice auto box, soft suspension mid engined feel and none of that clattering mezger lark in the back.
Roll on PDK S!
