This little beauty has come up for sale.

I've always loved the Countach but unless a distant rich relative pops their clogs and leaves me a small fortune, or, my lottery numbers come up, which, I don't play so can't see this happening, It's never gonna happen.

I don't know if I could do this, but, it's very tempting. I'm intrigued by kit cars and this just looks amazing. Shame about the carp engine though.

Wouldn't be for me thanks, so many other (non-kit) cars I'd be spending that €34k on e.g. a proper Ferrari 348

There are much better cars around for the money imo.

It's nice to see sch a genuine looking kit and I suppose it's ideal for people who can't afford to pop £6k on a new clutch - though the sound wuld kind of defeat the object and you'd always know you were a fraud. Couldn't live with that.

There is also the day when manufacturers suddenly crack down on copyright and someone comes and crushes the car.

I can see why replicas appeal, but for me that will never really be a "replica" with an engine that differs so wildly in character from the original - it's just a look-alike which does nothing for me.

It seems odd to put what was clearly a huge amount of work into producing a car that looks like that, but put in such a tame engine. How much more would it have cost to at least give it an LS V8 or something?

Ad says it's based on an A310 so presumably it's the engine from that. It's a shame if they butchered a perfectly good A310 though.

No as you have to open the door, when you reverse the car to see.
You would look like a plum, doing that all the time when parking the car IMO

A Countach is something that I would buy in a heartbeat if my numbers came up; it would have to be a proper one though never a replica, I don't get the replica thing at all, as far as I'm concerned it's a proper one or not at all.

This x 1,000,000. The Alpine is a lovely car in its own right!
