Now TV is a roku box (rebadged) with some features removed. It allows you to watch a variety of paid sky content such as sports and films for a monthly fee with no contract. It also offers some smart TV features such as iplayer, 4OD, Demand 5, playto, movie rental etc. I bought one for a tenner and have signed up for a months free trial of the movies, so far it's quite good but not sure what still works if I'm not paying a monthly fee as it does require you to sign in - I'll keep you posted in a a month?

Now TV is only for watching catchup TV on the major channels and live Sky - is that right?

Wonder if it's changed then as I asked this very question a few months back. I think for a tenner to ditch having the laptop plugged in to the TV it's a great idea, but at the time 4OD wasn't available - if that's changed I'm off to the shops

Well that's a photo I've just taken, so we'll have to assume it's changed.

Already had a look at the site and given up as it's a typical Sky site with too much useless marketing and not enough info!

That's great thanks.
One more question. Do you have to have a subscription for it to work or will it just fire up the catch up TV out of the box?
Plus you get £2 cash back from Quidco.
Realised after I posted the pic I should have got some custard.... One more question. Do you have to have a subscription for it to work or will it just fire up the catch up TV out of the box?

Erm....I'm not sure, it needed an account to log in - but that was set up when I ordered online, and then I just selected the movie free trial - in my case it was purchased mainly to allow Mrs j44esd to buy day passes to watch tennis tournaments, as I won't have 'normal' sky on subscription

You have to pay for 'something' cheapest is a one off football match at £10.
Other than the box I haven't had to pay anything. I will when I forget to cancel the movies trial after month one, but that will be my error
but as it's 'no contract' I can cancel it at any point after I forget again. Darn it, I think I worked out how they make their money.Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
