Hi All,

We had BT infinity broadband, phone and Youview fitted by BT yesterday.

Everything is great and the user experience is much better than I had expected.

The only criticism I have, is the sound quality and output is very poor.

If watching & listening through the TV alone, we are pumping up the volume level to around 10-12, on our last DVR recorder, a Samsung it would be 5-6?!

I have also connected it through my Onkyo 5.1 amp which is only (2 years only - HDMI model) and again the sound is just poor. If I put a CD into our CD player and run through the same amp and settings is sound magnificent and twice as loud.

Thoughts please.

Have you increased the DTR-1000 volume? If it is like the FOX-HDT2 then it also has it's own volume that you may need to increase.

Have you tried changing the Audio Description option on the remote? Is everything wired correctly between each box....?

I think this might be the solution!

How do you increase the volume because the volume on the remote turns up the volumue on the tv?

Dear IB,

I'm not sure whether you've fixed this yourself.

On the PVR remote at the top there are two buttons marked TV and PVR. Press PVR. Now further presses will operate the box only. Adjust the volume up/down on the PVR remote. You should see an onscreen display of the volume level.

It sounds like you had pressed TV at some point and the PVR remote then operates the TV rather than the PVR,

regards,
Jet
