I guess this will open a can of worms but thought I would share in case others can help and others are helped.
I went to put something into the 3000s today ie the new MG Ash tray as the springs where missing and the chrome was a bit on the original one?
When all of a sudden with nothing turned on I Hear a clicking like the indicators however the indicators where not going on.
I lifted the bonnet and the sound was coming from the left side indicator flasher unit even though the indicators where not flashing I turned on the ignition and put the indicators on and they worked fine and turned it off and clicking stopped.
Rather strange as never had that happen before however with the weather we have had even in the garage which is unheated everything does feel a bit dampish.
On the Vixen I have a Battery Isolator but not on the 3000s so before I put the cover back on I disconnected the battery as I hear of some cars being lost through electrical fire and don't really fancy that.
I guess I had better fit a battery isolator on her when I get a chance any suggestions I have a simple one in the spares box which I have not yet fitted.

I presume that' there is no after market alarm fitted if there is that could be the culprit. I could be condensation. It's been pretty mild today and your garage will have been colder inside so when you open garage door the warmer humid air will rush in and anything cold especially metal will get wet pretty quickly.
