I'm guessing someone from PH has done this previously.
I've always fancied riding my leg iron round the ring and saw this http://www.radamring.de/en/
How does it work. is a pro or fun event? or mixed?
are the team events relays, or all on at once?

Given what happened with the similar event at Silverstone, be very careful!
The way that one went was:
company books track for their sole use
company advertises for people to say to do solo, team, charity events etc.
company takes payment from people signing up
not enough people signed up
company declares bankruptcy and everyone loses their entry money (or, claims it via creditcards/ waits in line like the other creditors)

Its been running for donkeys years and its a huge event and hugely well supported too.
Its pretty straightforward really, you have 24 hours to cycle the rings 24 and a bit kms as many times as you can as a team or as an individual. Having driven it many times and ridden it a few times, you'll see things from a bike you'll never see in a car and you'll quickly realise there's a lot of uphill sections that don't look or feel like uphill sections in a car, don't underestimate how tough several laps are on a road bike. Its also very quick in places, I've hit over 90kmh on some of the descents and if it's wet it will be like skating.

Didn't think it would be easy. Not looking to achieve a great result, just finish it.
I'm not the worlds greatest athlete, just a stubborn chubby northerner who doesn't quit.
Walked across the Sahara for charity in November, and for the last 2 days my feet were shredded and the medics were telling me quit. But I didn't. Still finished last, but was happy with just finishing

I've also been looking at this for a while. It was discussed recently and someone said they'd done it, forget who. I found a GPS trace on ridewithgps and the steepest part is just after Karussell, over 10% for about 2km iirc and coming after the long uphill drag from Bergwerk too.
I'd love to do it... would be nice if they sorted out the website too.
