Just wondering if anybody has had there vantage v8 remapped or does anybody know any reasons you shouldn't mine is a 2007 so no warranty issues is it pointless would I feel the extra bhp looking at the stats most say you only get 15 bhp don't really want to go down the bam ford road too much money regards

I very much doubt that you would feel a performance boost (if that's your objective) from an additional 15BHP in a car of this weight.

Waste of money on a NA car unless you have some other mods to support it
The V8 responds well to sport cats and headers, back box is a waste of time but will change the noise.

I barely noticed when I put 15bhp on a 750kg Lotus Elise, so in a car double the weight I too doubt you would notice

Id save up and go the BR route for some tried and tested horsepower gains across the rev range....or just live with the car and learn to drive it faster...money invested in your own skills will stay with your forever...unlike car mods that you get used to very quickly and dont recover the outlay come resale

It would be very interesting to understand what the would-be remapping firm is going to do? Remap what? Not interested in finding out the specifics of what they do (not trying to gain knowledge of their intellectual property) but rather what they are attempting to achieve and what tools they use to do that?

A simple way to get more power out of the AM V8 engine is to put less fuel in. But then you'll cook the catalytic convertors...

So many firms make these sorts of assertions - that the manufacturer has left power untapped from a naturally aspirated drivetrain and it's generally BS.

These sorts of threads are always fun.

Yeah...I too would be interested in what a generic remap is going to do...

probably enforce the use of 98 RON fuel, up the rev limit by 250rpm and then claim +15bhp ....that only occurs on the last 500revs wink

/ just a bit cynical of remap gains on aspirated engines with no other mods ....its not like a turbo diesel smile

Yep
Both very good points!
I had a good chat with Mike and Adrian about V8 tuning this morning
There is very little "left in" by Aston with out breathing mods
As for leaning it out mine need extensive internal mods before they would even contemplate it wink
