Hello from new owner!
Discussion
Hi guys and gals.
Been on here for a few months while I was looking for my first Aston and bought one in mid November.
Victoria is a MY2006.5 V8V in Tungsten Silver with the nice addition of ProDrive's engine and exhaust upgrade. Changed from a 2006 Carrera 4S which was my second Porsche.
Done 1000 miles in seven weeks. Very much in love. The positive reaction from fellow motorists and people on the street is overwhelming positive unlike what I experienced in the Porker.
Currently in North Yorkshire but moving to Cheltenham in the spring.
All the best for 2014!

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Madhouse? I will certainly feel at home
Victoria is a daily driver for me and been pretty reliable thus far. I like to think regular use helps here.
The front passenger shock has a slight leak so will source the parts from AM Bits. There is a very small amount of surface rust on the tip of the rear arches which is not noticeable but will keep my eye on it. Treated it with ACF50 and some touch up paint. The trouble is road grime and mud catches inside the lip and it needs to be cleaned properly. Looks like the previous (and only owner) didn't do that - bad man.
The 997 I had, and a 987 before that, never posed any major trouble but I just fancied a change. I wanted a car that is elegantly sexy, understated, oozes charm and goes fast when needed. The Aston does all that and then some. The rarity value makes it feel very special too.
With the Prodrive additions, the V8V feels as fast - if not faster at the top end - than a 997 C4S. The brakes are better too.
No regrets at all. Well, yes - one small one….. should have switched sooner
Cheers.

Ok, ok, I've been broken, test drives of V8 (manual of its out of the workshop in time!) and DB9 arranged for this afternoon.
I'll report on findings later.

As everyone says here, you wont regret the move I'll report on findings later.

These views based soley on what I want from a car.
DB9 07 sport pack.
It hides the speed your doing well. Not sharp or edgy in any way, a comfortable enough ride, it was ok but not as satisfying a drive as my Cayenne S was on the way home but then Porsche do pedal travel, feel, calibration and suspension so well. Wind noise disappointed but no rattles. A nice car summed it up for me.
V8 4.7 09 Roadster manual box.
Much more fun, and involving drive, fantastic seat comfort (bad back here) steering handling fabulous, clutch gearbox accelerator "experience" not up to Porsche standard. Not hugely impressed by the shove in my back during acceleration, needed to be worked more than a C4S. Great proportions, gorgeous to look at. A disirable package visually but mechanically less slick.
Do I want one? I would like one yes, if I see the right car at the right money but the 911 is staying as well.
Overall an enjoyable afternoon.
