Panasonic TV Died.

Hi, I have a Panasonic TX-32LZD80 and the screen has just gone off. There is the normal back lighting indicating that it is turned on and the power button light is on as normal but nothing is displayed not even the TV settings menus.

Is it dead?

Doesn't sound good, my first advice is check if the menu will display, but you've already done that. Are you getting sound?

If you handy with a screwdriver then you could whip the back off and check all connections. How old is it? Did it have an extended warranty?

I had a similar issue with a TX32LXD70 - it would randomly fail to start - I got around it be continually working the start button, on-ff, on-off etc. and eventually it would power up.

Is the red LED on the front steady, of flashing?

I had mine under a Richer Sounds warranty, it was eventually repaired (well, software updated) and touch wood it's been fine since.

Not economical to repair. Inverter failed, which isn't unusual for a 5 year old TV apparently. Replaced, temporarily with a Samsung until funds permit a proper replacement.

Check the bay, you might be able to pick up the relevant circuit board cheap

Happened to my parents 6 year old one, backlight and sound on but no picture then would finally come on after about 20 minutes. TV guy said it was unecomical to repair and kept it for parts.
