Now the proud owner of a 996 Turbo

Where do I start, such an amazing car and totally different to drive compared to my 996 C2, I know on paper the 0-60 isnt too far apart but in reality it feels so much quicker than my C2!
I went for a tip in the end as other than a slight preference towards manual the one I went for is absolutely mint and had every spec on my list it was too good to miss out on!
Spec is as follows:
04 Cobalt Blue covered 39k
Interior black leather with Porsche Crest on seats, centre console and hard back sports seats sprayed in Cobalt blue (looks the nuts!)
PCM Sat Nav
Heated Seats
White Turbo Dials
I picked it up on the 23rd Dec and have had chance to take it on a number of decent runs and truly is an awesome car, great to drive, cabin is nice to be in, freaking fast just feels like the power is instatnt.
What I also love is the colour, it looks brilliant once cleaned and haven't see too many Cobalt blue turbos, I will get some pics up when I get chance!
Plans for the future maybe an Exhaust/Remap, also on my list is a paddle shift steering wheel but quite happy with how it is for the time being..

Welcome to the 996 Turbo Club 
Had mine just over 4 years as well. As above, can't think of anything else I'd rather have for the money........or even a bit more money. So about 12 months ago I started a fairly hefty overhaul process:- Turbo's, all pipework (Water, hydraulics, oil) Steering rack etc etc.
Great cars. Remap is deffo the way forward.

Confrats on your purchase. Sounds like a lovely example of a fantastic car
I sold mine a while back but there's not anything even close on price that could replace it (I prefer the 996 turbo to the 997 turbo), and am now looking at Gallardos which are double the price of a 996 turbo, which I think it very complimentary to the Porsche!

Very true.I sold mine a while back but there's not anything even close on price that could replace it (I prefer the 996 turbo to the 997 turbo), and am now looking at Gallardos which are double the price of a 996 turbo, which I think it very complimentary to the Porsche!

Had my 996 turbo x50 for almost 2 years and as others have said can't think of anything that offers the value.
A 997 GT3 would be nice but it's a fair bit more for a potentially less usable car. A 997 turbo is quite a bit more for an extra 30bhp and interior. R8 would be less practical, flash and slower.
They're a genuine real world supercar and a tough act to follow!

Congrats on the new car Stubbsy, looks lovely in Cobalt! Is it an x50 by any chance, the tailpipes prompt the question? If you are tempted by a remap, sports exhaust and paddle shift, I can recommend you speak to Ken and the chaps at Nine Excellence based near Gatwick, absolute experts on the turbo and tuning them.

Congrats OP, looks stunning in Cobalt.
Thanks for the positive comments guys absolutely loving my turbo just annoyed I cant clean it this weekend due to the rubbish weather!!
Even in the rubbish weather you can still have a lil blast in it feels like it has a lot more grip than my old C2 which I always felt I had to go a bit easier on after getting the back out on the odd occasion in the wet when I was not really driving it that aggressively.
Went through its MOT today looks like both rear tyres need replacing ASAP I thought they would do me for at least a couple of months but one has a nail stuck in it which is unrepairable so need to get them changed pronto - welcome to bigger wheels/tyres been quoted 243 each which no one could get near so seems like a good price!
It is not an x50 as far as I am aware just to be certain checked my dads inter cooler on his 996 turbo and they are the same....
