Not tried them, but what I do know is the new R version has been classed as a List 1B tyre by the MSA so are no longer available for use in road going production sprinting and Hillclimbs which is a big shame!
I understand that the new tyre is nothing more than a revised compound...
Which championship? They seem to be legal for the PCGB speed championship according to the regsI understand that the new tyre is nothing more than a revised compound...
I had a set of AD08's on my 2ZZGE powered mk3 MR2, they worked very, very well all round, mostly track miles in varying conditions. When worn out I put AD08R's on, they feel little different except they grip more with less heat, work from cold better and in cold wet weather. I am yet to try a better tyre. I run 195/15 & 225/16 £450 for a full set.

Yes the AD08 (not R) are a bit like Fred Flintstone tyres in the cold. I put some on my Z4MC as I'd had experience sprinting them in a Saxo, but then I realized we don't sprint in the winter...Herman Toothrot said:

Thanks all the feedback.Very encouraging about colder performance as the current non R's on my Classic Impreza need replacing and I was thinking of going for them now and using the car when temperatures are at least over 5°
I'm just hoping that will heat cycle them enough especially in their initial use
