NewOwner -V8 Roadster boot lock problem/Battery reset questn

Hi All, Picked up my first Aston just before Christmas - (mandatory picture attached -more when the sun shines/after I lower the numberplate) - the Aston-grin has been fixed to my face ever since and I’m loving every moment with it…

EXCEPT: The boot-lock opens when I turn on the ignition! Mostly it stays locked after I get out and close it but not always. At one point it was clicking madly as long as the ignition was on.

I thought a battery reset might fix it but the yellow button mentioned on this forum isn’t anywhere around or behind the front seats, I’ve even had the carpet up to check. I tried pressing the ‘battery disconnect’ in the boot but this doesn’t seem to work either - it doesn’t light up.

Can anybody suggest where/how on a 2007 V8 Roadster I can reset the electrics- sadly the post on Derby motors is gone?

The dealer has offered to pick it up and fix it, but it would be nice if I could at least find how to reset things. Any advice appreciated.

Mine did this. New boot button required, it's got some microswitch attached that goes nuts if it gets wet - £150 at dealer.

Thanks Rib -in that case I'll try a squirt of WD40 in the meantime!


Anybody have any ideas on the electrics reset procedure/button?

My first roadster did the same, new mechanism fitted under warranty
Your battery cut off switch is in the boot next to the 12v socket on the early roadsters
