Rear window leaking - advice sought
Discussion
First and foremost, a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to fellow members of the Nobility.
Well my M400 has finally returned from its journey to Noble Motorsport (via the Amalfi Coast) and with over £6k spent (invested?) meantime, and feeling like I was driving away from Chesterfield in an as new car, I have arrived home in Aberdeen to discover a somewhat disconcerting amount of water ingress on and behind the stretched alcantara fabric just beneath the rear window.
I do recall about 4-5 years ago, having a less serious problem in the same area below the window attended to by Peter Smith Sportscars and thankfully not had any issues since, but would like to know if anyone has experienced a similar problem and if so what was causing it and how it was rectified?
I've popped the plastic trim surround off the inside of the window edge and the water is definitely coming in at the lower part of the window mainly just behind the passenger seat headrest, but to all intents and purposes the external seal looks and feels perfect and shows absolutely no signs of damage or deterioration. My immediate thought is to call out someone like Autoglass to get the window removed, tidy up the seals and refitted, but will this solve the problem?
Ironically this comes on the back of a full NMS re-floor which has COMPLETELY cured my cars longstanding drivers side footwell leak! You couldn't make it up really........especially with NMS a 'mere' 400 miles away and having had the car since mid October!
Any advice would be gratefully received.......

Job done Rob! I went along to Autoglass earlier today and they found the leak and sorted it within 15 minutes. It was actually at the top of the window towards the passenger side - clearly the water was then running around the interior trim and trying to hide its true origins, hence my feelings that it was a leak at the base of the window. 10/10 for Autoglass though - excellent service. I'd imagine that as I've just driven a long, long way in her, and then had her uplifted to transport, in storage, and then a floor off job and rolling road (439BHP still) tested, that she's flexed a little and popped some of the black gooey stuff around the glass.
As for Amalfi - if you get the chance do it! I travelled there from Aberdeen via Eurotunnel, Reims, Strasbourg, Basle, Chamonix, Beaulieu Sur Mer, Pisa and Rome - the Noble performed superbly, averaging 26mpg, peaking out at just under 140mph on the A1 in Germany on the first Sunday night, and getting me the thick end of 2500 miles to Praiano without so much as a murmur. After a lovely 4 days on the Amalfi coast (see pic attached with Capri in the background) I got as far back as Montmorot in Eastern France, when on a rain and windswept E39 just after filling up, my battery light came on as I got back on the move. That was it. Game over.
Anyway I was uplifted by Direct Line / Green Flag after about a dozen local mechanics ahead surveyed exactly how to get the alternator out and then bailed on me, and whilst I was flown home from Geneva (after two nights in hotels) the M400 was 6 weeks behind me, arriving with NMS in Chesterfield in late October.
Can you believe the problem transpired to be a simple regulator - but that's all it takes isn't it? Another 2 months on and I've got her back now, and after toying with the possibility of selling, I've (yet again) decided that I can't. It'll be 8 years since I bought her in June this year (having had an M12 GTO 3R before that) and it's literally in my blood now, even with prices on the rise.
So.....all told I did 3600 miles in 11 days in her, and whilst the Amalfi roads are quite mad, narrow, steep, twisty, and overpopulated I can only say good things about the place. It's fantastic, and the M400 literally had the tourists and locals alike stopping and staring. Which can only be a good thing. Can't it?
Cheers for the earlier response anyway.
