Hi,
My 944 turbo has ABS according to the option sticker, the "antilock" warning lamp lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out when the engine is started. When you slam on the brakes however there is no ABS action at all, no juddering brake pedal, no ABS warning light just 4 long black lines on the road!
Where should I start looking? Haynes manual is no help
Thanks,KC

Get yourself a workshop manual on cd from ebay and a PET cd (parts) they will be a big help to you.

Don't know much about the ABS, but the ABS ECU is on the outer bulkhead, under the dash in the drivers footwell. Each wheel has a small diamond shaped sensor behind each brake disk. People have had problems with them getting all furred up with brakedust, so you have to remove each disk and clean the sensor (small paintbrush is perfect for this).

Check the fuse too, in fact do that first as its obvioulsy easiest
