The first two sentences in this ad had me in stitches for some reason... Just thought I would share as Mrs Goodsteed has ANOTHER sex in the city on the box.

Half a bottle of JD always helps smile

Edit: Did I just admit that? Just left home and back into my work country if that helps in making me look like less of a person who drinks too much. Time to leave the forum and go to the club. st, did I just say that too...

That looks utterly fooked, and it's just a rolling shell!

The really scary thing is though, in 15 years' time piles of cack like this will probably be worth some fairly serious cash, if mki/ii Escort prices are anything to go by.

I don't get it? What's so funny? confused

Looks like not a bad restoration project to me; no mental rust and what's an engine and gearbox going to cost? May as well get remanufactured ones without the hassle of dealing with the originals.

Nothing wrong as chassis resto base IMO. It was the "rolling chassis" followed by the immediate admittance there would be no actual wheels (the circular devices require for rolling) involved in the sale that got me.

Show me a Capri, cortina or pinto/CVH sierra that doesn't!

Yep. It's 28 years old and doesn't sound that bad at all. For the detractors; Have you actually tried acquiring a Capri lately ?
I'm on my sixth after 26 years and they're still an absolute hoot and often sideways. I'd stick with a V6 but this one sounds about on the money though it seems a bit odd listing the problems with the engine and then telling us that it won't have one...

nice. i do wonder what the point of worrying about smoke is here. he solved that problem entirely by removing the entire engine :-)

we need a 'laf at this' thread badly

for instance, welcome to the wonderful world of donedeal - this is a rare automobile

Rot, worn out rear suspension bushes, duff brakes, duff lights, crap wipers.

Yep, that's a Capri!

The only really big job, other than fitting an engine and gearbox, will be sorting out the rot. Mechanically these things are as simple as it gets and most of the parts can be had cheaply enough through the Capri Club.

They're getting rarer and more expensive by the day; my own 1986 Capri cost just £300 as a running but tatty and rusty restoration project (complete with tax and MOT) back in 2004, for a similar car in that condition now you'd be looking at £1200 or so, this one probably isn't a bad buy.
