That was just a stupid things to do. I'd have turned right around. Good chance to hydrolock the engine in water that deep.

I have a Vantage in that blue, or similar, with red rear lights, but that isn't me; I'd have ploughed in at high speed, parting the water in Moses fashion, giving me a dry path through it.

It could be a stock/old image, the article doesn't say anything about the photo.

Just the pressure of the bow wave pushing through that water at anything over walking pace would be enough to severely damage the front bumper and its attachments. Footpath looks clear and inviting though!

Not me either :-p

Anyway, in my view Midnight Blue (if that's indeed what it is in the photo, and not black), suits the red lights much better than clear ones :-)

It is not the only Aston stuck in the UK rain:

Unbelievable with the windows open (because of lack of battery power???).

Earlier this year we had heavy flooding and I had similar height water to go through (there was no stopping or going back) and that water was moving really fast, but it was only about 30 feet. What made it exciting was I had to make a stop and a right had turn in it. Could feel the front getting a little light, but it got through it.

But yes, if its that high for that far and you can avoid it, probably a good idea to do so since, as you can see in the picture, unless you are really familiar with the road you don't know how high the water really is.

Just brings to mind the old movie line "Who's the U-boat commander?"
