I don't personally know the answer but have found Norton anti-virus home page to be very good for this sort of advice and virus definitions. www.symantec.com

How much do you rely on system restore?
If it's not too important to you, I suggest the following...
Right Click My Computer
Properties
System Restore
Turn Off System Restore on all Drives
Apply
Untick TOSRoaD (interesting acronym!)
Apply
Re-Run virus-scan
This will turn off your system restore and remove the crud that's in there...
I use that method, but I don't rely on system restore...

At the risk of being ridiculed what does System Restore do...or is that self evident from the name....ie in Windows XP can you take your system back to a defined point when everything was hunky dory.
If so I have only knowingly used it twice in 2 years.
Are there any dangers in doing what you suggest?
