I have just enquired with my dealer about how much it would be for a new set of tyres and brake pads for my car, here is the answer:

"set of tyres is £1200", which looks so, so, then "and brakes is £1800" yikes and double yikes

Really, I was expecting about £600 for the pads and the price for a couple of hours technicians work for the brake pads!

Are you sure they didn't mean tyres is £1,200 and with brakes as well it is £1,800?

I asked BR to fit new front pads to my old V8V about a year ago. I cannot remember exactly what I paid but I would expect it would be well under a grand for all pads to be replaced, but just guessing there. £1,800 sounds extortionate, especially as for less then £500 you can do it yourself in an hour.

That's wrong as my pads were £700 a pair for my fronts and I have CCM's

Just had an update from the dealer after I questioned it. He said that the £1800 was for the pads and disk too?

Hi Bomber

A quick search of my tyres brings up the AM9 Bridgestones delivered including the VAT for £920, that would leave you with £280 to get them fitted, £1200 is not so bad if they are going to do full alignment as part of the deal if not get them delivered and fitted by a good performance tyre centre.
More searching would possibly find them for less, only tried the one site.

Please have a look in the FAQ.

Just check with EuroCarParts, using current 30% discount code...

Full set of pads (front and Rear)
Full set of disks (front and rear)
= £720.72 inc VAT

Any Local garage will fit the lot for around 2 hours labour (max) so figure on £150 on top.

that must include all discs and fitting too

Im on my 3rd set of discs, 4th set of tyres

front tyres most recently £250 each fitted with free geo check. Actually had great service from the Reading Aston Martin dealer. I was working nearby so convenient to use them, they fit me in under 24hrs notice, cleaned the car, fed me with food and coffee....certainly better than going to kwik-fit and saving a tenner wink

discs are about £500 a pair, pads £180-220 depending where you go. Say £700 per axle + 30 mins a corner fitting + hand brake pads if you need them

so £1600-1800 depending on labour rate for discs n pads all round and about £1100 for set of tyres depending where you go

My rear pads need replacing (75% worn) but will wait until I take it to BR later this year for that.

I am just having all 4 tyres replaced on my DB9 for £1200 including a laser alignment (using the latest Hunter alignment machine and 'contactless' rim tyre removal), that's for Michelin Super Sports.

Speaking of which, can anyone recommend SuperSports or Goodyear F1 Asyms? I want to try something different to the RE50 AM9s.

The Supersports will be a better performing tyre than the F1 Asyms (as reflected in the relative prices). I tried both on my CSL and much preferred the Supersports.

I think the Euro car parts list the Disks Individually and not as a set.

I have just brought front and rears

Discs are cheaper from AM than Eurocarparts

This is from HMW Aston
V8 Vantage Front Brake Discs (pair)
PART NO: 4G43-28-10265-PK
£280.80 inc VAT
Pair of Front Brake Discs for the V8 Vantage.

V8 Vantage Rear Brake Discs (pair)
PART NO: 4G43-28-10266-PK
£271.08 inc VAT
Pair of Rear Brake Discs for the V8 Vantage.

I'd buy my discs from AM and my pads from Eurocarparts.... And my tyres from a good tyre place...smile

According to their website you are correct, however...
I couldn't believe that Eurocarparts were effectively twice the price of other suppliers so I questioned their pricing. They accepted that the website price should be for a pair (and that is what was delivered to me). Website still has not been corrected though.

I bet you the discs are fine......as soon as they develop the slightest lip on them the dealer wants to change them....with pads the rule for the dealer is to recommend changing them if they have less than 10000 miles on them as in theory they might not get you through to the next service.......but if like me your only doing 2500 miles a year in theory they will last for another 3 years

If my rear pads need changing, do I need anything else except the pads from eurocarparts? E.g. wear sensors etc? Cheers

Wear sensors only need replacing if they've been activated.... ie if the light on the dash has come onsmile

yeah, so you have a choice ..notice your pads are "getting close" at a service and replace them

or

wait for the sensors to come on, replace pads and sensors

financially not much difference I guess. Ive had the sensors on once and on my 4th set of pads now

And I had the opposite, only received one disc but was told I would get a pair when I spoke to them!

Now trying to establish if i will receive the other one or i have to return the single disc for a refund.

Further update for those that may be interested.

EuroCarParts are sending another disc to make up the pair.

So if you do want them from ECP it is best to check or probably better visit a branch.
