I'm fairly into gaming when I have the chance. Used to play a lot of COD on xbox360. However I have a wii U that I rarely use. Bought mario 3d at Xmas never opened. Playing mainly rocksmith and 3DS games at the mo. Still have the last of us to play thru and loads of PC games I bought in the sale. Do I need one?

No, you have new toy syndrome. We all suffer from it occasionally.

Doesn't sound like you need one yet. The price will come down the longer you can go without, plus there's nothing out already that looks really 'next-gen'.

You also have to consider the games cost upwards of £50. Maybe you should play through your old PC games first.

I had a pre-order in ages ago so went ahead and got one but in all honesty I could have probably waited about 6 months as there just isn't anything really mind blowing games wise out on it at the moment so if I was in your shoes I'd probably just wait.

Do you need one, probably not.

Should you get one, you say you're into gaming and if you can afford one then why not. Even if you got bored of it the resale value at the moment is good.

Mario 3d is superb!

If you'll play Battlefield 4 then yes, buy a PS4. IT is most impressive.

Hi Kenz

How much do you want for the Wii U and Mario?

Not selling my Wii U. I'll get round to playing Mario someday ;-)

Thing is I recently upgraded the GPU on my I7 machine and have played battlefield on full settings. However online is a bit temperamental and when you do get a game I get killed a lot as I use the xbox controller where most pc users are a dab hand with the mouse and keyboard.

Anyways my order is secured with Amazon with delivery date 15-17. I can cancel. Just with the steam sale, I have too many games. I'm thinking hold off until later in the year.

Rocksmith on PC is brilliant. It does teach you how to play the guitar but it's not easy. It caters for the beginner or more advanced as the difficulty increases on how many chords/notes you get correct. Section of songs are repeated automatically if you miss a number of notes and slowed down if the section proves to be really difficult.

Just a quick heads up - Argos are currently selling the £349.99 standalone PS4 with Lego Marvel Superheroes for just £5 extra, cracking deal. I've got a reservation going spare for Worcester if anybody wants it, I've managed to get a reservation nearer to home.

This is the only problem for me. Seems to take a few years before developers really push the architecture of the current platforms. I thought the PS4 would be different since it is essentially running PC components.

I'm in no rush. I've still got GTA5 and GT6 (unopened!) to play through on the PS3, and I've not been on it for weeks.

I'm selling a load of old tech on Ebay so I'm going to use that money to fund the PS4. Probably around May time.

There's just nothing out yet that has that 'wow' factor for me.

I got one on launch day, with Battlefield 4 and Assassin's Creed 4, and more recently Killzone.

But having got over the new toy syndrome, I've since switched back to using my PS3 as Netflix works better on it, and I am rather addicted to GTA V online. No other game comes close in my opinion.

So no, you don't 'need' a PS4, and in hindsight I'd have waited until Watchdogs / DriveClub etc are released, but when I pre-ordered they were both scheduled for the launch...

As he hasn't really got a serious console would it be a waste though? I mean if it comes down by £100 in 6 months (which I doubt) it would mean £0.69 a day or under £5 a week. I am sure someone renting one out at this rate would be in and dated with orders smile

I have a new unopened PS4 that i just can decide what to do with.

I bought it as my PS3 has been having video issues, it's a slimline and starts getting noise in the image after 10-15 mins and then eventually it goes out completely.

As the PS4 doesnt support DLNA yet i'm really reluctant to open it as it's all i really use it for! although i have BF4 ready to be upgraded if i do get it out....

Even put the Ps4 on gumtree but there seems little interest which surprised me given the supply shortage at the moment.

I'm not convinced there is a shortage of supply to be honest. Everyone I know who wanted one has got one with little difficulty and there are stock suggestions already in this thread.

I suspect it's largely a case of those who are going to buy one right now already have. Until the price moves or more games come out I'm not sure the stock levels really matter.

Just my opinion though. People I know who want one are firmly in those two camps. They either have one already as above, or they're holding out for games and / or a price drop. I don't know anyone who wants one currently trying, and failing, to find stock.

Had one since launch and have got KZ, BF4, COD & AC4, plus the PS+ freebies.

My PS3 hasn't been switched on since. In fact until the PS4 launch I had been playing GTA almost daily, AC4 has taken over that urge completely.

Sure there aren't as many AAA titles out yet as people would like but I've no regrets at all. If money isn't an issue then I can't see any point in waiting six months. It'll be the same price in six months time, maybe a little cheaper in a year but they won't be replacing it with a reduced slim model for at least a couple of years.

Well I finally made a decision on buying the PS4 after looking at my bank balance. Logged in just now to cancel only to find it was packing. O'h well decision made.

Does seem they are available. Argos seem to be good at getting stock..
