Nuts seem to me to be bloody expensive in supermarkets these days. They need to become my default snack over the next few months as I try and get in shape for my holiday to Spain.

I am thinking almonds, pistachios and walnuts here - anyone source theirs cheaply?

Lidl. Almonds/pistachios are in loose sacks round by the fruit and veg. Maybe it's a Christmas thing as I don't recall seeing them before.

A good source year-round are Mediterranean/Indian grocers, or try the ethnic product aisle in supermarkets for large bags of pistachios/pumpkin seeds.

I've bought some Macadamias, Almonds, coconut, etc.. off of Amazon before in bulk. Holland & Barret tend to always have an offer on too.

Careful not to eat too many though. They are very good for you in terms of good fats, stave off hunger, etc.. but they are hugely calorific - as are the dried fruits which are basically sugar. Although I expect I am preaching to the converted.

Have a look in the pound shops.
One near here sells nice bags of almonds.

Try your local market if you have one.

I buy almonds £1 for 250g (Faversham Market)

After switching to nuts and seeds I found this to be the cheapest option, £1.33/kg
