Damaged said lead the other day, and now have a replacement. However, the instructions with the new one says the right angled connector is for the distributor end and the straight connector for the coil. My car had the old lead connected the other way round! And it ran OK. Does it matter? Here is the old lead with the connector boots pushed back on.

Normally I would say it doesn't matter but the right-angled connector has the metal protruding from the boot whilst the straight one doesn't. Both leads look the same (except the new one is red smile )

That should be as per the instructions.
Electrically it makes no difference
If you need a straight connector from the distributor - they make those too.

Electrically it shouldn't make a difference but it seems more convenient to come out of the coil at 90 degrees and route the cable along the existing loom, as the old one was.

Sorry, I did read the post but then promptly ignored the fact that is coil to distributor.
Whichever tickles your fancy is the correct answer I think smile

I'd be cautious, some cables are directional, just ask in the HiFi section... wink

Hey - I work for a HiFi company - the latest "thing" is Audiophile "Drectional" Ethernet (network) cables... hehe
