Hi,

Just a quick one on the police officers application of the rules pertaining to number plate spacing.

Without going into detail on the applicable regulations, I understand the rules pertaining to spacing apply from 2001 onwards and does not operate retrospectively.

Accordingly, if a car's number plate is older than 2001 then do police officer's pretty much ignore that car's numberplate spacing?

Regards,

Err no. IIRC the spacing rules have applied since June 1972 I believe. The 2001 onwards thing is the correct font and applies to all numberplates made since then.

Thanx also for the "fashion police" comment above. Point well made and duly noted.
