If you were purchasing a 2nd hand car from a garage without having a trade-in what sort of discount if any would you expect from a circa £15,000 car?

Could do with a bit more info on the car in the question, such as age, type, marque etc.

It's a bit vague to even make a stab at currently!

Depends what the car is worth?

Is it the cheapest in the country, is it the most expensive, is it the best condition locally or the worst?

Etc etc.

I don't think its reasonable to expect a discount "just because"

I'm buying my next car from you, that's about £371 more than I got off my last car!

Identify comparable's, work out what you are willing to pay and talk.

There is no fixed discount.

There may be no room to discount.

At least 10%. Even more if you can claim the VAT back.

This.

You know there isn't actually a rule book about X discount for Y price, right? It's a *bit* more complicated than that and subject to a lot of variables.

I did state in my 1st post that there may be no discount available, just looking for a ball park figure ideally from anybody with recent experiance
