Late last night whilst trying to drop off to sleep, I started to wonder what the difference is between a corner and a bend scratchchin After a few minutes of this it got me thinking, if driving round a corner involves cornering, what does driving round a bend involve..... Clearly the answer to this is somewhat ghey sounding.. which got me thinking about Porsche Boxsters.. I must of dropped off around then as it's all I can remember.

So when does a bend become a corner or a corner become a bend???

Depends on the car innit.

If driving something like a Chimaera then it's a "corner", and hence the driver is acting as a "cornerer".

But if driving an MX-5, Boxster or Griff, it's a "bend", and hence the driver is acting as a... well, you know!

...maybe it's something you could debate with with my ex-mother-in-law who was an English teacher before she retired and used to be incredibly anal about the precise meanings of wording ... and then try to explain to her that discussing what they did after taking the dogs out for a walk in the early mornings or late evenings before bed should not be done using the phrase "Upon returning from dogging..."

hehe

True, we should all be grateful for that, but at what cost ?? If this is what offshore life does to a man then perhaps we need to start a little community to support the mentally impaired............... "waits for applicants" !

If it's on the open road its a bend.
If it's on a race track its a corner.

Stop all this corner naming its sending me round the bend, its actually called a turn!!!!!

Turn 1
Turn 2 and so on.

As for owning a Chimeara and a Porsche

That's madness and insanity!

Its mildly amusing some days is this ere place.

Brave souls driving in that snow!!
